My wife and I recently enjoyed a date night at Restaurant R'evolution, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. The ambiance of the Jazz Playhouse, connected to the restaurant, was particularly memorable and added a unique charm to our evening. Located just off Bourbon Street, stepping into R'evolution felt like entering a different, more sophisticated world, a welcome contrast to the lively streets outside. The food was exceptional, and we left eagerly anticipating our next visit. We'll certainly be back when they reopen. Bon appétit!

I dinned here in June for our anniversary. It also happened to be Restaurant week as well. We started with happy hour at the bar which is Thur to Sunday from 4pm to 6pm. They have $9 select cocktails and $2 off select wines. The bar area is stunning. I kind of liked it more than the dining room. The elegant glass cases have New Orleans memorabilia and like antique absinthe makers and pots, as well as Louisiana icons nick knacks like pelicans and alligator heads. I just loved it. I ordered a martini espresso, it was not on the HH menu, but that is what I was craving. It was tasty, not the best I have ever had, but it was good. The bartenders, well all the staff, are very professional. A second line band happened to stroll down the street, right outside the doors of the restaurant, that was a treat! We got to the dining area, my hubby ordered their famous Death by Gumbo and I was sadly disappointed when I tasted it. It tasted way too fishy for me. It is supposed to be a roasted quail but also has oysters in there which I do not like, so maybe that is where the fishy flavor came from? I don't know but it was $20 and I just did not care for it... luckily the hubby didn't mind it but also said for $20 it was not the best gumbo he ever had. The presentation was nice, there had two people serve it, one person bought the bowl, the other poured it. The other disappointing thing was the rum drink. It was supposed to be just rum, but tasted like it had some coke in it. We did mention that to our waitress, and she offered to bring another drink, but we declined. I ordered a corn and crab bisque which I did enjoy. The bread with the three different butters: the honey butter was the best of course, I liked the Cajun butter second, the regular butter was just fine of course - it is butter after all. I think those were my two favorite dishes other than the complementary pralines that our very sweet waitress gave us for our anniversary. She went above and beyond and I really appreciated that. But the dinner I ordered, again for those high prices, were not blowing me away. I ordered the redfish Bienville, it was nice, delicate flavors that married well, but I didn't fall in love with it. GW Finns down the street has similar pricing/service/food, but their food is incredible and worth every penny. That Petit Gateauc au Chocolat, was on par with the chocolate bomb at Finns. That mousse though! The desserts, the bread/butter, and the drinks at the bar area were really the best. I give service 5+ stars and food 3 stars. I may come back for Happy Hour and desserts. .

This was the best meal I had this year! I can't say enough great things about the food, the cocktails and wine pairings, the service and the atmosphere! Our server was so personable and made great recommendations. We went for restaurant week but luckily all of the options seem to be on the regular menu too! The short rib boudin balls were chefs kiss! I did not think lobster bisque could get any better, but they did it was sweet onions and a lobster oil. The short rib was so tender, and the desserts were delicious! Our server recommended the Vieux Carre cocktail which was the best old fashion I've ever had! I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I came here for our birthday. Yes, we share the same birthday. I was looking for a classy restaurant that was within walking distance from our hotel, and after reading the reviews, I was sure we would be pleased. We arrived on time for our reservation and were greeted by an amicable hostess who seated us immediately. The lights were dim, and there was light music playing. After being seated, the host pulled up a purse stool so I could sit my handbag. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks, I had the Jean Grey, and my husband had a Roasted Peach Old-fashioned, both were well crafted drinks. We started with the crab beignets, which was mostly filled with blue crabmeat not filling. They were very good, paired with four rémoulades, all quite tasty as well. My husband's entrée was the Matagorda Bay Redfish, which came with heirloom carrots. I had the grouper and requested for the original side to be substituted with Brussel Sprouts. Both our meals were delicious, the fish was cooked at the appropriate temperature, and everything was seasoned to perfection. To add to our already lovely evening, our waiter brought out a birthday dessert for both of us, and it was yummy. This restaurant understands that presentation means everything. Even the check came in a cute little box. As a thank you for dining departure gift, they brought out a box full of little treats. Our entire experience was wonderful, from the top-notch service to the amazing food and drinks and the yummy treats. If you are looking for a fine dining experience, look no further.
